FAQ

  • Why should I choose GTA Reiki?

Students choose us because of our comprehensive offerings, high teaching standards, and the ongoing support and community we provide. We teach all levels of Usui / Holy Fire III Reiki(R) certification classes including Reiki 1, Reiki 2, Reiki 3 / Master Practitioner, Reiki Master Teacher and Karuna Reiki(R) Master. All of our certification classes include online resources, manuals, and plenty of supervised hands-on practice. We also offer non-certification classes including Reiki for Self Care, and a pendulums and crystals class is coming soon. Our students are invited to join our private online community and free monthly online Reiki circles, where we ask questions, share stories, and participate in distance reiki practice and healing meditations. We offer a unique portal of resources to support novice Usui / Holy Fire III Reiki teachers, and we are developing a new course and membership community focused on growing a Reiki practice.

  • Where are the in-person classes held?

In-person classes are facilitated by certified Reiki Masters in various locations, mostly in and around the Greater Toronto Area but in other towns and cities in Ontario too. We are currently teaching in Toronto, North York, Thornhill, Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Oshawa, Ottawa, Barrie and Stirling and new locations are added regularly.

  • How long are the classes?

All of our Reiki classes are a minimum of 8 hours to allow for questions, discussion, and hands-on practice. In addition, you can expect to spend a few hours preparing for and reviewing the class with the online resources and print manuals we provide. The Reiki Master Teacher classes are at least two full days and include practice co-teaching with an experienced Reiki Master.

  • What is the purpose of this website?

This website hosts the calendar of GTA Reiki classes and directory of GTA Reiki teachers. It is also the portal of the supplementary multimedia resources you receive when you take a GTA Reiki class. In addition to the live instruction and manual for each class, you'll receive lifetime access to downloadable reference sheets, video demos, recorded meditations, knowledge checks, and more.

  • When can I take a class?

Click on the calendar link below to browse scheduled offerings. If you don't see a class you want, contact us to request a specific date and location. We are always adding new classes and we will do our best to meet your needs.

  • How much are the classes?

Class fees vary depending on level and location. Please verify fees and payment options for the course you want with your teacher.

  • Can I transfer to a GTA Reiki class?

Students transfer to GTA Reiki classes for many different reasons. Perhaps you or your teacher moved, you took reiki a long time ago and haven't practiced for a while, you did an online class that did not include hands-on practice, you studied traditional Usui Reiki and now you're curious about Holy Fire Reiki, etc. If you want to join any Reiki class higher than Reiki 1, your teacher will need to conduct an assessment by interview and/or skills demonstration. You may be asked to share your previous teacher's information and any certificates you received. The assessor may make a proposal to fill in gaps in your knowledge or skills and there may be a fee for the assessment and materials. On the other hand, transferring from one GTA Reiki teacher to another is easy because we follow a common curriculum.

  • Do you offer online classes?

Yes; we believe that Reiki should be available to everyone, everywhere. Most of our classes run in-person but as Holy Fire Reiki Masters, our teachers are certified to offer live online Reiki classes. In online classes, we ask you to recruit a volunteer for part of the class, to practice the hand positions and sensing energy with support from your teacher. Online classes are offered by special request, only, and we must have a minimum of 2 students per class.

  • Ok I'm ready! How do I register?

First, check the calendar to see when and where the class is running and who is teaching it. Contact the teacher directly to confirm that there are seats available and that you are eligible to register. Next, your teacher will need your full name as you wish it to appear on your certificate, your mailing and email addresses, and cell phone number. Finally, on receipt of a course deposit, your seat will be secured and you will receive access to the online resources. The balance of the course fee will be due before the class.
